My work involved photographing each of Bernardo de Orgaz’s artworks for the creation of a complete book, making sure his art was preserved and presented with accuracy and detail. I also contributed a text to accompany his portrait on 35mm, adding to the visual narrative of his work. This project was a team effort and took 14 months to complete.

The portrait doesn’t just accompany the artwork, intensifies it.
«Throughout this project, I meticulously photographed each piece, but it was in the portrait that I discovered a unique and essential dimension of the artist’s work. I believe it’s crucial to capture the artist, because through their image we gain access to their inner world, to the vision behind the art. The works may reflect what the artist carries inside, but the portrait invites us to go beyond the surface, to understand their emotions and perspective on life. When photographed with this intention, the gaze can reveal the very essence of their thought, their passion, and their connection to their work».
